Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens.

Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner

Hands down, my all-time favorite book. This is one of the really few books that allowed me to pause and ponder on the rather more important things in life - religion, family and relationships. To give the book a two thumbs-up is an understatement. Really.

She closed the book and put her cheek against it. There was still an odor of a library on it, of dust, leather, binding glue, and old paper, one book carrying the smell of hundreds.
